(Pronounced as ‘ex-feeno’) The name is short for extended phenotype, meaning Extend your Expression.

The name is coined on the concept of genes and their expression on the environment. Likening this concept to the ‘world of work’ is at once unusual, yet fitting. When placed in a role that best suits their abilities, people can have a far-reaching effect beyond their immediate circle; they are in a position to influence large teams and companies, thereby having a huge, positive impact on the ecosystem.

Xpheno Private Limited is a specialist talent solutions firm founded by Kamal Karanth and Anil Ethanur. Started in 2016 and scaled up from 2017, our mission is to connect high-skilled professionals with roles where they can fully realise their potential—a concept reflected in our name, inspired by the "extended phenotype". Ambarish serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Xpheno board. He guides Xpheno on strategy, investments and governance. Ambarish is Managing Director of RA & Son Pte Ltd, Singapore, an independent advisory firm engaged in facilitating FII investments in Indian private and public equity markets. He has been associated with several PE funds in different capacities.
